Ongoing regulatory compliance with a dedicated point-of-care IT solution
The AQURE POC IT solution helps La Paz achieve and maintain ISO accreditation quality standards
Purpose-designed solution helps demonstrate regulatory compliance
La Paz University Hospital implemented the AQURE POC IT solution to enable connectivity to, and real-time monitoring of, POCT devices from various vendors, and to demonstrate operator management and ongoing compliance.
Key performance indicators
However, monitoring many different POCT devices is a challenge, one that illustrates the potential value of a middleware solution. At La Paz, AQURE became a key asset in supporting the simplification of data collection on key performance indicators.
We’ve been using AQURE since 2014 to give us the connectivity that we need. AQURE is an essential tool that supports us in our day-to-day POCT management, not only for our Radiometer devices, but also for those from third parties. It is very important to us, and our laboratory team uses it frequently throughout the day

Accreditation is a way of work
“With AQURE, we can collect the primary information we need to show compliance. For example, it allows us to evaluate internal quality control results on a daily basis. We also need to perform monthly monitoring of imprecision and systematic error, at every level and for each device,” Paloma commented.
“AQURE helps us to gather the data we need for management and quality assurance purposes, and to ensure full traceability. We always know the clinical setting, date, time, analyzer and lot number of the consumables used, working with a particular patient,” Paloma concluded.
AQURE makes it easier to monitor the POCT devices and gives us more information and control to help avoid preanalytical errors and reduce error rates.
