The value of point-of-care testing (POCT) across a multisite network
Optimizing point-of-care testing in critical care
The blood gas analyzers were to be situated across the hospital’s locations in critical care units including the ED, ICU, pulmonology ward and maternity ward.
While the analyzers would be installed, checked, and maintained by laboratory staff, Hospital Jean Bernard needed a uniform pool of devices that would be user-friendly for staff working with patients at the point of care.

The benefits of Remote Support
With the analyzers connected to the cloud, remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and calibration supported a reduction in travel to devices at different points of care.
In turn, this also increased device uptime, enabling greater analyzer availability.
Accreditation and sustained support
She explained: “Radiometer offers customers an annual account review and report. Data is drawn from the cloud to analyze activity and analyzer downtime, and to construct an action plan ensuring continuous improvements and the development the reciprocal relationship.”
Overall, leveraging the diverse benefits of AQURE has enabled Hospital Jean Bernard to provide faster patient care, and improved quality of care – at the point of care.
In the field, Radiometer’s application specialists are of great assistance for issues relating to reproducibility and how to program devices for correlations. They provide an array of useful support, especially for large implementations.
